True love always finds its way. Cheesy, we know, but it remains true for our story.

It all started in 2015 at Walton Westside Apartments in Atlanta, Georgia. Little did two corner apartment-dwelling, railroad track-facing, goat farm-adjacent neighbors know what laid in store. For about a year, they both stubbornly denied the deep and confusing attraction they had for one another.

One night while walking their dogs, they finally stopped to talk. Almost immediately, they couldn’t stop talking. As Andy told Kristy early on, “I just want to learn everything about you.” So they took it upon themselves to learn everything there was about the other.

A move in 2016 took Kristy to Chicago, but distance didn’t stop what was becoming an undeniable love. In 2018, Kristy moved back down south to Chattanooga, making a previously long-distance relationship only medium-distance.

Twists and turns followed, but it took Kristy’s mom coming down with COVID in January of 2021 to make Kristy and Andy realize that life is fragile, and they were ready to get on with making their life together official. Staying at Surf Studio Beach Resort together while her mom recovered, looking at the spot where her mom and Gregg, her stepdad, got married, Andy surprised Kristy by telling her, “I’m going to marry you here.”

Not much later, in May of 2021, as both Kristy’s and Andy’s mothers would say, they “finally” moved in together, joining their canine families as one, with Kristy unaware that Andy had proposal plans lined up soon after.

While visiting Kristy’s now-fully recovered mom in July of that year, it may be no surprise that Kristy asked her, “Do you think Andy will ever propose?” Much to her relief, (and surprise,) later that very evening while visiting Surf Studio again, he did just that, with Kristy’s mom and Gregg in attendance to document every second.

As Kristy and Andy embark on the next step of their life together, there’s no place they’d rather commit their lives to one another than at the place that’s meant so much to both of them, surrounded by their closest family and friends.
